'Nikko', also known as 'Nikko Blue', is a classic hydrangea selection that blooms earlier than many other hydrangeas. The large clusters of blooms on 'Nikko Blue' may reach the truest shade of blue of nearly any hydrangea. It is recommended to give 'Nikko Blue' more acidic soil. Miracid may also be used to boost the acidity of the soil, which will also boost the blue color on 'Nikko'. For a pinker color, add garden lime to increase the alkalinity of the soil. 'Nikko' may reach 4-5 ft in height and width in 10 years.
